Retiring of School Facilities Policy

I. Purpose The purpose of this policy is to set expectations for retiring of Wicomico County Public Schools (WCPS) facilities in compliance with the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) Title 13A.02.09.01-.03. II. Policy Statement As the population within Wicomico county, matures or changes, school buildings and other school facilities may no longer be needed or may no longer be usable. Therefore, the Wicomico County Board of Education (WCBOE) must review and consider school facilities for use modification and retirement. III. Policy In accordance with COMAR 13.A.02.09.01-.03, WCBOE will evaluate annually those facilities that may be considered for retirement.
