Facility Inventory Analysis

PRE-K FOR ALL INITIATIVE Study the elementary capacity impact of implementing the Pre-K for all initiative and add new capacity as determined necessary. ROOF REFURBISHMENT INITIATIVE As part of our ongoing maintenance plan, all school roofs are documented and monitored in an effort to maintain their integrity. The following is a list of the top four roofs needing replacement (in priority order): 1. Westside Intermediate 2. Wicomico High 3. Fruitland Primary 4. Parkside High PLUMBING INITIATIVE Wicomico High School is unique in that it is a large campus style school. Throughout the sprawling campus, the original domestic water piping is corroding from the inside out. Associated piping is becoming clogged with particles and with that, it is recommended that all of the interior and exterior (to the main) domestic water piping be replaced. Along the same lines, the original sewer piping continues to age with each passing year. These pipes shall be monitored and replaced when necessary. This condition is also present at several of our other older schools such as Wicomico Middle School. Such conditions must be monitored and addressed as necessary. Bleachers As determined by maintenance inspections, bleachers shall be replaced as they reach the end of their useful life (both internal and external). Safety Address safety concerns such as but not limited to: Secure Vestibules Converting open classrooms Perimeter fencing Classroom doors/locks Security Cameras Entry access systems Integrated Intercom / Additional Radios Parking / Site Circulation Address pedestrian, bus, staff and parent vehicular circulation issues at various sites.
