WCPS STUDENT ATTENDANCE AREA GUIDELINES

ESTABLISHING STUDENT ATTENDANCE AREAS The following guidelines for establishing student attendance areas are intended to provide a structure within which specific boundary decisions can be made. From the outset of the redistricting process, the board has stipulated that all decisions must be based on educationally sound criteria and reflect the best solution for the largest number of students. While the guidelines will be considered individually, adjustments to each stated goal may very well have to be made to meet the overall goals and provide a reasonable transition to the revised attendance areas. 1. School Size Recommended (optimum number) Elementary: 400-500 (possibly 450-550) Middle: 700-800 High: 900-1100 2.
