SCORECARD NARRATIVE

As mentioned in the facility inventory analysis, one of the goals of the EFMP is to provide quality data upon which objective data driven decisions can be made. To foster this idea, the following two sections provide a quick reference that all parties can use to quickly assess a schools current state. The first section provides two maps that separate out elementary schools and secondary schools. The data on the maps are the key indicators upon which the Facility Needs Index (Major Capital Improvement) was based. The maps illustrate how each school fairs compared to the rest of the county schools. The next section provides a detailed infographic (scorecard) for each of the county schools. The graphics on the bottom half of the scorecards visually portray the four key indicators described in the facility inventory analysis (FQI, FCI, PI and U%). The larger single graph at the top of the scorecard visually depicts the projected enrollments which are analyzed in the Enrollment and Capacity section. Lastly, in the top corner of the scorecard there is a small indicator which identifies where the particular school falls on the Facility Needs Index (Major Capital Improvement). The closer this number gets to 24, the more attention the school needs and the more likely it is to be at the top of the facility needs list (set in the Facility Needs section of the EFMP). Behind the individual scorecards, a list of current facility needs will be provided for each school. The lists purpose is two-fold. One, it provides staff with an understanding for what has already been identified as an issue at the schools. Second, the projects listed will feed directly into the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), as they are identified as needing capital expenditures. It should be noted that the projects listed are not in priority order and are simply listed for information only. The priority order of the projects is preliminarily set in the Facility Needs section of the EFMP and finalized during the State/ County CIP process.
